Systems Waterproofing was started in 2008 by Erik and Donovan. Ten years after starting the company, Systems Waterproofing continues to experience growth and take on even larger projects that are in excess of a million dollars. Systems Waterproofing has an established footprint in warehousing, education, stadiums, and retail. They also continue to work with contractors on major projects for Disneyland, Walmart, Target, HOAG Hospital, Home Depot, Sprouts, San Diego Tech Center and so many more. The vision for the future is to continue to grow by recruiting top quality talent, expanding our repertoire of services and expertise, and breaking into new markets.

Our Team

Donovan McReynolds

President & CoFounder

Donovan co-founded Systems Waterproofing in 2008 after 5 successful years in the industry. It was his desire to develop a company from the ground up and here it is 2018 and Systems Waterproofing is a responsible company working in 3 states with 75+ employees. Donovan leads and collaborates with his sales staff with his knowledge of the waterproofing, sealants and coating industry and works with clients on pricing, budgets and plans on upcoming major projects.

Erik Paulson

Vice President & CoFounder

Erik studied business at Vanguard University before starting in the waterproofing industry in 2002. His background includes VP of operations for another waterproofing firm. At this firm, he assisted in growing the business from 25 field employees to 125 field employees through his management of the day to day operations. Erik always hoped he would own and operate his own business. So in 2008, Erik co-founded Systems Waterproofing, taking on the role of operations for the business. His responsibilities include hiring all personnel, working with distributors to control inventory costs, negotiating credit terms, and purchasing all field equipment and vehicles.

Brenda has been with Systems Waterproofing since inception in 2008. Her 25 year background as VP & Manager in banking has been a guiding force for our company. Her organizational skills to handle the day to day office management and finances has been beneficial to our growth and success. Her current focus is digitizing the day to day paperwork flow and broadening communication and delivery of information and documents from Operations to the field foremen thus enhancing productivity and a more accurate on-time information.

Oscar Sahagun

General Superintendent

Oscar started in the waterproofing industry in the early 1990’s. He is an industry veteran familiar with all aspects of waterproofing, sealants and coatings. Since his joining Systems Waterproofing, he has overseen multiple crews working on projects ranging from a few thousand to several million dollars. He has been trained, performed and certified on numerous of product lines.

James “Jimmy” Dent

Project Executive

About James

Jimmy has eleven years of experience in the waterproofing industry. He has successfully managed projects over his career in multiple states and is mainly responsible for prevailing wage work throughout Southern California.  As a specialist in schools and parking structures, Jimmy has cultivated many relationships in the industry that rely on him as their waterproofing expert.    “Having the opportunity to represent the Systems Waterproofing team on a daily basis is a true honor” said Dent.  “Being an athlete I always value team work and look at everything with a team approach. The Systems Waterproofing model is the same team approach that I value and that is what makes it such a special place.”

MaryAnn Jeffers

Office Manager

About MaryAnn

MaryAnn joined Systems Waterproofing in September of 2013. She is a graduate of Vanguard University with a background in finance and administration. After taking a break from the workforce to focus on raising her family, she joined the Systems Waterproofing team as a part-time office assistant. Working her way through various administrative duties in the office she eventually ended up heading the AR department and assuming the role of Office Manager. She has settled into her new position handling and overseeing all the day to day matters from personnel to billing.

Jorge Santos

Project Engineer / Operations

About Jorge

Jorge Santos began his career in waterproofing in 2006 at the age of 19. In 2009, Jorge came to Systems Waterproofing as one of the first field employees for the company. He has experience and training in installing deck coatings, joint sealants & most waterproofing products. This experience has helped him usher into working alongside the office staff. Since 2014, Jorge has been an integral part of the payroll staff along with submittals & warranties on all projects.   Now Jorge is working in operations assisting with scheduling, ordering material and interacting with field foremen and crews.

Jessica Bishop

Project Manager

About Jessica

Jessica began working in the concrete flooring industry in 2012 as an Administrative Assistant.  Over the years, she has developed a wide range of construction knowledge and skills which has allowed her to work her way through Administration into Operations, which led to Estimating and eventually Project Management. Jessica joined the Systems Waterproofing team in January, 2018.  She has since proven to be an important asset to the company and has contributed significantly to the growth of our Flooring Division.

Kyle Aase

About Kyle

Kyle started in the waterproofing industry in 2004. Kyle has sold and managed thousands of projects. He has a vast knowledge of waterproofing , coating and sealant materials.  His 14 years’ experience is a great addition to our team.

Miguel Romo

Warehouse Manager

About Miguel

Miguel started in the waterproofing industry in 2002. He worked as a field installer for 5 years then moved his way into a warehouse manager. Miguel started with the Systems team in 2009. He is in charge of the warehouse inventory as well as the maintenance of all the vehicles and equipment.
